Fundraising and Donor Privacy Policies
Mountain Regional Arts & Crafts Guild, Inc. values all contributions to sustain our mission of promoting local artisans and arts & crafts education. To build public trust and to protect the privacy of our donors, we maintain the following policies that are also published on our website at www.artguildstore.com
Funds shall be solicited in a respectful manner and without pressure.
The funding purpose shall be clearly communicated to the potential donor.
Donor-designated restrictions on contributions shall be honored.
MRACG is a non-profit 501 ( c )(3) organization and contributions are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
Written tax receipts and a thank you note shall be issued for all donations.
If the donor receives anything in exchange for their donation, such as a dinner or event admission, the tax receipt shall clearly state what portion of the donation is tax deductible.
At the beginning of each calendar year, MRACG shall provide its donors with written documentation of all tax deductible gifts received during the prior calendar year.
All in-kind gifts accepted by MRACG shall be recorded and acknowledged. The donor shall determine the monetary value of the in-kind gift.
All records of donations shall be maintained by the corporation in a secure location according to applicable standards of record retention.
Donors may have a copy of our annual federal financial report by contacting our treasurer at706-896-0932.
MRACG shall not sell or share donor lists.
Any information supplied to MRACG by donors shall be used to complete the donation transaction, communicate back to the donor, and update the donor on guild happenings.
MRACG may publically recognize a donor by publishing the donor’s name or business and general donation level unless the donor requests to be anonymous.
Donors may remain anonymous by notifying our treasurer.
A donor’s personal information shall not be shared unless permission is granted by the donor. Exceptions shall be those required by law or in connection with the donation transaction.
MRACG shall limit access to donor financial transactions to board officers & directors.
Credit card information shall not be retained by MRACG.
Donors may be removed from MRACG’s mailing list by notifying our treasurer.
Guild member lists and donations shall be afforded the same privacy considerations.
